Service Description: This dataset is a compilation of thermal spring temperature observations compiled by the West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey, published as a Web map service, a Web feature service, an ESRI service and as an Excel spreadsheet for the National Geothermal Data System. The original spreadsheet contains 7 worksheets, including information about the template, instructions on using the template, notes related to revisions of the template, Resource provider information, the data, a field list (data mapping view) and a worksheet with vocabularies for use in populating the spreadsheet (data valid terms). Data from 130 springs are included. Fields in the data table include ThermalSpringURI, Name, Label, OtherName, OtherIdentifier, Description, Source, SourceURI, FeatureType, LandLeaseOwner, OtherLocationName, County, State, PLSS_Meridians, Township, Range, Section, SectionPart, Parcel, UTM_E, UTM_N, UTMDatumZone, LatDegree, LongDegree, SRS, LocationUncertaintyStatement, ObservationURI, Temperature, TemperatureUnits, TempMeasurementProcedure, TempMeasurementDateTime, Flow, FlowUnits, FlowMeasurementProcedure, FlowMeasurementDateTime, MeasurementSource, FlowContinuity, Classification, RelatedWaterChemistry, DataEntrySource, RelatedResources and Remarks.

Document Info:
Title: West Virginia Thermal Springs, AASG State Geothermal Data
Author: West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey
Comments: This layer contains data describing thermal springs in the state of Arizona, obtained by the AASG for the Geothermal Data Project. The data table includes general information on the location of the springs, temperature of the fluid, flow volumes, location uncertainty and remarks. Citations are included in the dataset. The ThermalSpringURI for a particular thermal spring is the cross-referencing link (foreign key) used to associate the spring with any other web based information on that specific feature. The data is displayed using a temperature gradient color scheme ramping from green (cool) to red (hot).
